There are fears in Lebanon this evening that Hezbollah has launched a takeover of the country, under the subterfuge of a general strike. Beirut was brought to a standstill with gunfire echoing through the streets. The Western-leaning government says the pro-Syrian, Iranian-backed Hezbollah is setting up its own state-within-a-state.
Union leader Ghassan Ghosen said the opposition would not be stopped: "You can see the complete absence of government forces on the streets; we are in control."

Senator Hillary Clinton says she has no regrets over her threats to 'totally obliterate' Iran if Israel is hit with a nuclear bomb.
"Why would I have any regrets?" Senator Clinton said Saturday in response to ABC News' question as to whether she had any regrets about threatening Tehran.
"I am asked a question about what I would do if Iran attacked our ally, a country that many of us have a great deal of, you know, connection with and feeling for," the Democratic hopeful continued.

The blast took place in the volatile northern city of Saada. Officials have blamed it on followers of rebel leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. Houthi, a member of the Zaydi sect of Shi'ite Islam has been fighting the government in Saada since 2004.
